In order to get the rooms to have the sizes you want, you need to exactly position your wall intersections. Click on one of the "rulers" we created (measuring the lengths of one of the rooms above). Go to the "snap to grid box". You should see an indication that the wall dimension line you selected is the "current distance" that you are controlling. Put a CHECKMARK in the box "Selected Dimension". Now, go ahead and MOVE one of the OTHER vertical walls connected to this ruler (and which intersect our top main wall). You'll notice that the "selected dimension distance" seems to jump in increments you specified in the snap to grid box (1 feet, 2 feet, 5 feet etc). |

The "spash screen" that appears when the program starts up has an excellent "beginner's" introduction to the "snap to grid technique." Just start the program up, scroll to the bottom of the "spashscreen" and click on "snap to grid." The "snap to grid" technique is a general-purpose technique used for many things.
